An adventurous person

Describe an adventurous person you know.

Talking about an adventurous person, I want to talk about Jack. He works as an engineer for a company in Jiangsu Province.

I met him while I was travelling in Guilin during my summer vacation in my first year of high school. He was riding a tricycle and carrying a small bike at the same time, which impressed me a lot. I made a compliment and he laughed about it. And then, we started to chat as it turned out we were both looking for a place to stay. So we chatted and wandered until we found a decent youth hostel.

Jack told me that he was really into cycling and spent a large amount of his free time travelling to various places to cycle and sightseeing at the same time. We decided to go cycling the next day together. We went out of town and started up cycling in a narrow path beside a river with rolling fields off to the other side. Although the place was so tranquil(安静的)and picturesque, I found it quite hard to cycle and almost fell into the river at one point. However, Jack was experienced and kindly slowed down so that I could keep up. He told me that he had cycled in much more difficult conditions where the terrain was steeper and more rugged.

I guess he is so adventurous because he loves the thrill of exploring new places. I suppose he’s a bit of adrenaline junkie(肾上腺素怪人), but at the same time he has a very calm disposition(性情). He told me he could get a huge sense of achievement and satisfaction when he cycled in such exciting places.
