It was a common scene of life that one day my sister, who has been pregnant for six months, has caught a bad cold. She wanted to take medicine but she wondered whether it will do harm to the baby. Naturally she turned on the computer, got on line and googled the information before she made a decision. The impact that computer has had on our daily life is undeniable while there is a growing awareness of both positive and negative influences that computers have bring to us. Some people might be right to think that computers have made life complex and stressful, but from my point of view, those shortcomings can be neglected when the advantages computers have brought are mentioned.

Almost no one can deny the fact that computers have made life easier. Our school abounds with the examples of this case. After a day's class, most of the students will turn on computers, either to surf the internet or to play computer games. Girls always like scanning the internet to find what the current trend of fashion is while boys are found of playing computer games such as CS and Half Life. Not only do teenagers reap the benefits from computers, but also old people are enjoying the entertainments that computers brought to them. My grandmother are keen to chatting online, with computer she feel lonely no more. Compared with the past when there was no computer, life is more fresh and enjoyable. Mr. Wang, my neibour, told me that once he wanted to be a writer in his childhood, but as years slide by, his dream was almost dashed as he failed to be accepted by a literature major. After graduation he became a businessman but he never forget his dream. Now he writes his blog every day and he has owned a large number of readers. It is computer that made his life easier and that helped him realize his dream.

Another advantage that can't be ignored is that computers have added much convenience to our lives. Once upon a time shopping was really a tedious task, we had to drive to the store and wandered every floor to seek for a simple object we needed. If we unfortunately went to the store in holidays, much time had to be spent on the way because of the traffic jam. If we more unfortunately went to buy something that was on sale, we cannot avoid waiting in a long line to pay for it. Anyway, in the past, shopping is really a time consuming task. But now it is a totally different story. As long as we want, we can make a purchase at any time without going downstairs. All that we need to do is click the bottom, in that way computers provide us great convenience. What's more, we students are also thankful to computers because they have saved us a lot of troubles in writing essays. We don't have to go to library and find information among a frightening number of books. Instead, we can simply get on line and seek for the information we need. Pens and ink were that important to a student in the past yet they fade next to the wide use of computer. After information was downloaded from the internet, we simply organize it and arrange it using Microsoft Word and the final step is printing. Much more convenient is the process than it was in the past.

Superior as computers are, they bring their own problems too. Some people say that computers have made life more complex and stressful. As computer science is developing more advanced, a lot of basic work can be done by computers. It requires people to do more difficult work thus it brings higher pressure. Less communication during work is another main reason why people feel stressful.

However, computer is just a tool, it was created for the purpose that it can made life easier and convenient. With the development of science, I believe that it would be easier to handle computer and we can find ways such as doing sports to reduce pressure it brings. Disadvantages as computers have, they cannot compete with the advantages computers bring when the convenience and entertainments are taken into consideration.
